it's just those rainy days... (mary.j anyone??)

today is just one of those cloudy-rainy-wet-wanna-stay-in-my-bed-and-lounge kind of days. luckily i got to enjoy some of the comforts my bed offers on a day like today. i went to the navs leadership team meeting, then out for lunch with sue - we stepped outside the restaurant and it was raining and windy. i decided to just take it on and walked home. i stepped in several invisible puddles - the kind that just looks like a plain old wet sidewalk until you step on that spot and realize the sidewalk dips *just* a little and your entire foot is immersed in water. that soaking feeling is accompanied with a sinking feeling in your stomach. the combination is like the 1-2 punch, just terrible. i suppose what makes it even worse was the fact that i was wearing a pair of those slip on shoes that don't cover the heel. good times. i got home eventually, peeled off my socks and jumped into a warm pair of plaid pyjama pants and onto my bed, where i lay for a good three hours. i listened to my new marymary cd, tried doing some calligraphy, then fell asleep. what a task it was to pull myself away from my comfortable, homey bed. but alas i acheived the feat and am here, clothed in comfort and wishing i had a cup of tea in my hand.
